With over 30 years’ HR experience across a wide range of industries, Director Helen Gilfillan is the perfect person to look after your HR needs in Bishops Stortford, Stansted, Great Dunmow, Halstead and the surrounding areas. Helen, who is fully qualified and holds a Masters in Strategic HR Management, provides employment law and human resources support to small and medium sized businesses in the area, bringing a wealth of expertise and knowledge to her clients.
Helen’s HR Dept business is based near Great Dunmow and she is passionate about helping SMEs in the area thrive, by offering them practical support and pragmatic, personal advice. Helen has worked in many industries at Director level, including manufacturing, print, retail and the public sector, and has managed large re-structuring programmes and successfully implemented HR software and performance management processes.
Helen offers a broad range of support, from a single employment contract, to taking on all of your HR requirements. Services are tailored to individual company needs, so a bespoke package can be agreed upon, from working together on an ad hoc basis or providing ongoing help through an HR Advice Line. Helen is dedicated to helping her clients’ businesses thrive. By working with smaller businesses, she knows her input is invaluable and that she can really make a difference. She takes away the stress of HR and loves to learn about each business she works with, understanding the culture and the people involved. That way she can tailor her work specifically to them. With the support of the HR Dept larger organisation around her, she feels secure in knowing that she can always provide her clients with everything needed so they can be helped in every situation. She will offer the best advice so that clients can make the most cost effective and commercially sound decisions.
Helen lives with her two daughters and a cocker spaniel called George. She loves the outdoors and lots of sports, including running cycling and skiing and is an ex-racing driver! When she’s not working, Helen is often found on the golf course, attempting to improve her handicap.

Meet the team
Sue Blakeley
HR Administrator
Sue has spent much of her career in Local Government with the last 10 years specialising in Project & Change Management. Within this role Sue often crossed over into HR where large staffing restructures required Project Management expertise. Sue took early retirement at the end of 2022 but was coaxed back into returning to work part-time by Helen. This was a change of direction for Sue who was happy to start from a very basic knowledge of HR and provide admin support. During the last year Sue has discovered a real love for HR and dealing with clients changing needs on top of developing new skills. Whilst continuing to work part-time, Sue is always positive with a great work ethic and attention to detail. Excellent customer service is embedded into Sue’s DNA, which makes her a valued asset to the team.
Morgan Le Riche
HR Assistant
Morgan originally comes from California, has lived in the UK for over 20 years in Essex with her husband and young daughter. Morgan has worked in various industries in and out of HR giving her a wide breath of experience for her role from hospitality, health and fitness sector, veterinarian hospitals, to HR within corporate insurance and non-profits for over 15 years in various positions from HR Admin, training coordination and logistics, to office management.
She loves to positively influence others, enjoys learning new skills and assisting others with their own personal growth and solving problems. Morgan brings hard work and dedication to her role and is a great asset to the HR Dept.
