Tracey Hudson

Executive Director

Tracey Hudson is our Executive Director. Tracey is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD) and holds a Masters degree in Strategic Human Resource Management. She has a wealth of HR experience having previously worked in larger corporates as well as SME businesses. She started The HR Dept in Warwickshire in 2005 and enjoys proactively supporting SME’s with their people issues. Tracey has built a strong commercial understanding of business challenges which is why the team always take a pragmatic approach to HR issues.

Sarah Asprey

Managing Director

Sarah joined the HR Dept in 2013 as an experienced, CIPD qualified HR professional who has worked in a variety of businesses and sectors during her career. Sarah understands the challenges facing small to medium sized businesses and has a practical and commercial approach to HR along with experience of dealing with complex cases.

Sarah is Managing Director of The HR Dept South Warwickshire, North Warwickshire, Rugby and North Derbyshire and is responsible for leading the business, ensuring exceptional service to our clients as well as providing our retained clients with advice on complex cases.

Vickie Shears

Business Development Director

Vickie joined the HR Dept family in September 2021. As Business Development Director covering four HR Dept offices North and South Warwickshire, Rugby, and North Derbyshire, she is responsible for engaging with business owners to identify potential HR requirements and providing guidance on the best solution to meet their needs.

With over 25 years of working within the hospitality arena, 5 of which were as a small business owner herself, Vickie really understands the challenges faced by many start-ups and SME’s and the importance of having robust HR processes in place, protecting businesses against potential litigation.

In addition, with 5 years’ experience working for a national training provider, Vickie recognises the benefits of having a upskilled and motivated workforce and the impact this can have on building high performing teams.

Vickie is delighted to be supported by a team of highly skilled HR Specialists who offer a personal, professional service that prevents people problems and improves bottom line profits.

Tom Dillon

Associate Coach

Tom provides the people development side of the HR Dept’s proposition.

With a degree in psychology, a master’s degree in executive coaching and a wealth of experience of working in the SME sector, Tom is ideally placed to respond to all coaching and people development requirements.

In addition, Tom has a flair for organisational culture change. This involves exploring and assessing the current culture, helping organisations envision the culture they want and then working with them to realise that vision for the future.

Tom sees the work that he does with clients of The HR Dept as a positive way of promoting successful employee engagement and great organisational communication. In doing this Tom feels that he helps SME leaders to create cultures in which many of the people problems that can derail the profitability and growth of companies are avoided.

Jane Godefroy

HR Consultant
Jane joined the team in December 2018 and is responsible for leading our team of advisors and supporting our clients with complex HR issues. Jane is CIPD qualified and has worked in HR for over 20 years. Jane’s experience has been gained from both large and small businesses, she has an extensive knowledge of all things HR and is passionate about the SME Sector.
Jane understands the challenges small businesses encounter, having worked independently as an HR consultant prior to joining The HR Dept. Jane provides pragmatic advice to clients across the full HR spectrum. She also provides on-site support to clients for specific projects and complex cases.

Stefanie Avery

HR Consultant
Stefanie is an experienced, CIPD qualified HR Professional who joined the team in November 2018. Stefanie has worked in HR for over 10 years and has experience in various sectors. Having worked for both large corporate companies and small businesses, she has extensive knowledge in strategic and generalist HR.
Stefanie understands the challenges small businesses encounter first hand. She is also passionate about growing the business, leading our team of advisors and supporting our clients. Stefanie utilises her people skills and knowledge by providing an excellent service to our clients.  Stefanie is available for on-site support.

Charlotte Sherratt

HR Consultant
Charlotte joined the team in October 2019. Prior to joining the HR Dept, Charlotte worked for over 10 years in the retail sector advising on all matters of HR and payroll.
Charlotte has experience of working on large and small HR cases and is happy to advise on and support any HR challenge your business might face.  Charlotte can also provide on-site support.
Charlotte has recently successfully completed her Level 5 CIPD Diploma.

Sophie Sainsbury

HR Consultant
Sophie joined the team in November 2017. Sophie has 10 year HR experience in various sectors. Sophie provides advice and support to our retained clients on a variety of HR issues including discipline and grievance cases, redundancies, sickness absence, contracts of employment, holiday calculations, employee handbooks and recruitment.
Sophie holds CIPD Level 3 and 5 certificates and is available to provide on-site support.

Lucy Whatsize

HR Consultant
Lucy joined the team in June 2017. Since joining the team, Lucy has completed a Level 4 Business Administration apprenticeship, and her Level 3 and Level 5 CIPD.
Lucy advises our retained clients on a variety of HR challenges, including, redundancy, disciplinary issues, grievances, sickness absence, contracts of employment, holiday calculations, employee handbooks and recruitment. Lucy is also our MyHRToolkit expert and is able to provide on-site support.

Milena Maric

Business Assistant

Milena joined the team in June 2019 as Business Co-ordinator for The HR Dept North Derbyshire, South and North Warwickshire and Rugby.  Milena has many years’ experience of working in support and co-ordination roles, amongst them working as a wedding and events co-ordinator and a PA in a busy accountancy practice.

Milena’s main duties are looking after clients’ tribunal insurance renewals and projects to support the business.

Helen Leathers

Trainer and Coach

Helen provides a variety of workshops at the HR Dept. She is an experienced trainer, facilitator and women’s coach.

Helen has personally trained hundreds of SME business owners to improve their personal effectiveness, communication and presentation skills. She is inspired to help individuals understand and improve themselves, and as a result, to feel more empowered.

As a women’s coach she specialises in confidence and impactful leadership whilst avoiding burnout.

Emily Stokes

HR Consultant
Emily joined the team in November 2021, previously completing a Bachelor of Honor’s degree in Business and Human Resource Management, with CIPD level 3 and 5.
Emily has worked in HR since graduating University advising on all matters of HR. Emily has an understanding of the issues small businesses face from working on a variety of HR cases. Emily is happy to advise and support on any HR challenges. Emily can also provide on-site support to clients.

Lisa Tyers

HR Consultant
Lisa joined the team in November 2020. She has a LLB in Law and experience of working in SME’s as well as large corporate departments and Not for Profit Organisations.
Prior to working in HR, Lisa worked in a Maintenance and Operations background for over 15 years, and as such, has gained valued insight into the day to day workings of businesses and the challenges they face. Lisa is skilled in understanding the challenges that organisations have daily, and in having challenging conversations as well as taking a pragmatic approach to driving forward solutions in a time and cost effective way for the employer. Lisa is available to provide on-site support.

Grace Hughes

HR Consultant

Grace joined the team in September 2022 as a HR Assistant having previously worked within an in-house HR team in an administrative role.  Grace is looking forward to developing her HR career and is currently working towards her CIPD level 3 with hopes to complete her CIPD level 5 in the future.
