Adaptable

I think that word really describes how we’ve been over the last five months. You see we’ve been flexible, compliant, versatile, accommodating, multi-skilled, co-operative, resilient and obliging. I’m sure we’ve been other things as well, but I really like ‘adaptable’.

As we enter this next phase of change, we must continue to adapt in our personal lives and in our working lives too. Being able to adapt is the key to success and hopefully happiness. Adaptable employees are not afraid of change, can cope with uncertainty, are willing to learn new skills, take on different responsibilities and look at new career options. They are open to the possibilities of doing things differently and are more productive.

Adaptable employers make sure they have a flexible business model, invest in better technologies, know what their customers need, have diverse and inclusive cultures, trust staff to work flexibly and care about staff health and wellbeing. They are open to the possibility of doing things differently and are more successful.

At the HR Dept, we are adaptable too. We don’t believe in one size fits all and we adapt our approaches in ways that best meet the needs of our clients.
