HR Training:
Yesterday I ran a 1-day face to face training course on ‘HR administration essentials’ at a client site. It was so good being out and about working again interacting directly with people while all follow-ing the health and safety guidelines of social distancing. The training session was a great success.
It’s amazing how many small employers don’t know about the many things they must consider when employing staff. I went through the employee lifecycle, i.e. from the moment the employer advertises, recruits and selects someone through to managing them, giving them time off, reporting when they are sick, training and developing them and finally saying goodbye to them. All the while keeping them safe. Not knowing what you need to know about record keeping, document retention and basic legal responsibilities can be a risk that isn’t worth taking.
This is a great course to attend for someone taking on HR responsibilities for the first time as a business owner or for an employee responsible for general hr administration.
To perform a HR administration role, you do not need to have a HR qualification but to do the role competently you do need to have an awareness and understanding of the employee life-cycle so that you can implement the right processes and procedures into the company.
