Meet the team

Lucy Westlake

HR Director

Director of The HR Dept Norwich and the East Coast, Lucy is passionate about helping the local SME feel confident in its people practises and supported with a forward thinking, comprehensive and responsive HR service.

Lucy started her career working in large multi-national corporates, where she was able to gleam a myriad of experience, knowledge and understanding across the broad field of HR expertise.

Over the last decade, Lucy has been supporting small businesses, to stabilise, grow and work smarter when it comes to their people agendas.

With over 20 years of generalist HR experience, Degree and Masters in Human Resources, and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Lucy is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with the next generation as a mentor and supporter of internships in the local community.

Fun fact: Lucy has travelled round the world three times, has 2 children, 2 cats and has ridden a Harley down route 66.

Elley Margason

HR Advisor

Elley joined the HR Dept in 2024 having relocated to the area from London, where she spent over a decade working for small businesses managing inhouse HR and Operations, across property, retail and publishing sectors.

An HR generalist, Elley supports a broad spectrum of client needs from recruitment, policy writing, organisational design (I love writing a job description) and learning and development.

Elley holds her Level 5 CIPD in People Management.

Fun fact: Elley is a huge fan of karaoke, song of choice – Bohemian Rhapsody.

Jo Holmes

Operations & HR Advisor

Jo has worked alongside Lucy since 2018, joining the HR Dept in 2024.

Having graduated from Sheffield University with a degree in French and Business Studies, she began her HR career within a graduate role at Asda HQ, where she was responsible for a variety of initiatives at the company’s network of distribution centres across the UK.

Achieving her postgraduate CIPD diploma from Coventry University, she moved into increasingly senior roles within NFU Mutual, Signet Trading and UKMail, specialising in HR Shared Services, Reward and the development of complex HR systems.

Fun fact: A keen runner, Jo completed the London Marathon in 2024, cheered on by her husband, two children and an army of supporters.

Imogen Cooke

HR Assistant

Our HR Assistant, Imogen is a final year student at the University of East Anglia, reading towards her BA (Hons) in Business and Human Resources Management.

Imogen supports our clients with project delivery, including HR system implementation and coordination of events and HR policy updates.

A keen baker, Imogen can whip up some of the best cookies with amazing combinations, such as kinder bueno, Ferraro Roche and mini egg – yum!
