Aims of the Workshop:

We understand the constraints and concerns that smaller businesses have if they don’t have in-house professional HR expertise or where the resource is limited or it’s difficult to keep up to date with HR practices and compliance.

During this small group workshop we will provide a clear overview of what you need to be aware of and what to do when managing HR Administration, whilst working through practical examples of documents, letters and scenarios in the workplace. You’ll be able to put into practice your learnings from the session and we’ll follow up with providing you with a comprehensive online HR Admin Guide that you can use when back at work.

  • Admin essentials and avoiding discriminatory risk in the recruitment process
  • Contracts of employment, what clauses to be included and why
  • Understanding GDPR when managing HR e.g. employee privacy notices, recruitment privacy notices and managing SAR requests
  • Induction process and what needs to be covered
  • Holiday requests including calculating part time, zero hour and term time entitlements
  • Employment policies to cover flexible and hybrid working
  • Probationary review process, reviewing, extending, passing and dismissing
  • Employment law basics
  • Managing the sickness absence process, logging and recording data
  • End of employment process to avoid risk
  • Consequences of getting your HR admin wrong

Presenters

Gemma Fyfe – HR Advisor – HR Dept Trafford and Warrington

Gemma is CIPD qualified and has extensive experience of HR administration and providing HR and employee relations advice to small and medium businesses.  She is specialist in developing contracts of employment, employee handbooks and HR policies bespoke to business needs.

Gemma also has Team Leader experience in managing teams, improving processes and implementing change in a corporate shared service HR operation, recognising the issues that businesses may face and the importance of good communication and compliance in HR administration.

Amy Pasicznyk – HR Business Co-ordinator – HR Dept Trafford and Warrington                         

Amy has over 12 years’ recruitment experience. She has worked in a broad range of industries providing generalist HR advice and support to managers and employees. Amy has an interest in Leadership & Management Training and People Development.

Amy has a degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Human Resource Management. She is also Level 7 CIPD qualified.
