Statutory Changes

If you employ people you have several statutory obligations that you have to comply with.

These include:

  • providing a written statement of terms and conditions
  • providing the relevant notice periods
  • Payments for sick leave, maternity / paternity / adoption leave and minimum wage.

If you weren’t aware of these obligations, then you also might not be aware of the changes that we see each year.

It’s almost guaranteed that each year there will be at least a change to the payments that you must make when your employees are off sick, take certain types of leave related to family or when paying them.

Get these obligations wrong and you could find yourself in breaching an employee’s statutory rights.

On top of this there may be additional changes to what you are required to include in a statement of terms and conditions.  Or the timescales by which you have to provide an employee with their written statement of terms can change.  It can be lot to think about – particularly while you’re running your business at the same time!

Don’t fall foul your statutory obligations, call us on 01179 702 955 to speak to our professional advisors about our services and how we can keep you up to date so that you are free to run your business.
