History

Now famed for its vibrant architecture, markets and green spaces, Battersea is an area steeped in history. Known during the mediaeval period as Batricheseie, the location has served a multitude of purposes over the past few hundred years. Most notably, Battersea is home to the historic St Mary’s Church and the now disused Battersea Power Station, a striking display of art deco design and an homage to the city’s industrial past.

Location and Travel
