Who we are

Helen has had a successful career in Operations Management and as an HR Practitioner with a range of experience across the private, public and not for profit sectors. Helen demonstrates an ability to understand the legal framework and to develop and implement practical solutions to meet clients’ needs.

Fintan has owned and managed The HR Dept in South London for 15 years.  He advises small businesses on all HR issues having over thirty years’ experience in organisations across a range of industries and markets.  Fintan is legally qualified and specialises in dispute resolution and complex HR matters such as TUPE.  He is also a qualified Health & Safety (Tech IOSH) professional advising clients on all aspects of risk management.

Maria combines her experience of working in-house and as a consultant to give practical advice to clients. As well as managing a portfolio of clients and delivering training, Maria also builds relationships with businesses and contacts in and around the Bromley area, raising awareness of how the HR Dept can support them. Maria is an Associate CIPD and has completed Level 7 CIPD Certificate.

Vicki has over 15 years HR experience advising on recruitment, employee relations and a wide range of employment law issues. She has Level 5 in HR Management and is an Associate CIPD. Vicki is responsible for managing operations and ensuring that all client matters are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner but also heading up our value-added recruitment service for our clients.

Jane has been with The HR Dept for 14 years supporting the company in all areas of administration.  Jane is both diligent and efficient in the management of sensitive information.

Liz has worked in a variety of business environments with extensive experience in Public Relations. In a change of career, Liz now manages the finances of The HR Dept.

Hannah has 5 years’ experience working in HR including onboarding new employees and dealing with employee relations issues. Hannah began her HR career working in-house and has now moved to consultancy for a new challenge. Her responsibilities include advising and supporting clients on employment law and best practice. Hannah will soon be starting to work on attaining her CIPD Level 5 Diploma.

Alison joined the team in September 2022 and brings with her a wealth of experience as a line manager having previously worked within aviation as an operational manager for many years where she gained hands on experience in dealing with HR issues.

Alison is now utilising her skills in an HR advisory capacity and has a Level 5 in HR Management Diploma and is an Associate CIPD. Her responsibilities include advising clients on employment law and HR best practice as well as providing support for the rest of the team.

Ali holds a Masters in Human Resources Management and has a broad range of in house experience in HR, with a focus on on-boarding, recruitment and employee relations. After a career break to be with her children, Ali has recently joined our team to advise clients on employment law and HR best practice as well as providing support for the rest of the team.

Abbie is currently a third-year student at Sussex University studying media and communications, her previous work experience includes social media content creation for careers and entrepreneurship services at the university. Abbie has also devised her own projects surrounding academic achievement, wellbeing and employability for the school of Media, Arts and Humanities, these projects have been a mixture of social media content creation, interviewing and gathering data alongside devising marketing plans for these projects.

Abbie joined the team in Summer 2023 to complete a two-month internship as a Marketing Assistant and having returned to her final year at university, continues in her role on a part time basis.  In this role Abbie creates and schedules social media posts alongside working on a variety of marketing campaigns, offering a fresh perspective to our marketing.
