GDPR Protection Insurance

At the HR Dept we use our HR expertise and knowledge to support your business in abiding to GDPR requirements, whilst also reducing the risks of the data protection legislation that came into effect on 25th May 2018.

If you are concerned about GDPR and potential claims against your business, our GDPR protection insurance will give you the reassurance you need.

Our insurance covers legal representation costs involved in defending a formal investigation by the ICO, or claims against you for GDPR compensation (but not including any fine or actual compensation payment you may be liable for).

What we will cover;

a) Notice of a formal investigation or disciplinary hearing by any professional or regulatory body.

b) A claim against you for compensation under the Data Protection Act 2018 provided that

i) You are registered with the Information Commissioner

ii) You are able to evidence that you have in place a process to – investigate complaints from data subjects regarding a breach of their privacy rights – offer suitable redress where a breach has occurred and that your complaints process has been fully engaged.

Our GDPR protection insurance is available to HR Dept Advice Line customers as an optional add on.

How do I ensure my business is GDPR compliant?

If your business is not currently GDPR compliant, The HR Dept are here to help. We will ensure you are up to date with the current ICO guidance and are able to provide quality advice on behalf of your business. We will work to deliver an efficient service to review any of your existing employment contracts and amending these where appropriate.

As part of the support you will also receive an up to date Data Protection Policy, a Subject Access Request Policy, a Data Breach Policy, A Privacy Statement which can be issued to employees and a Privacy Statement which can be issued to job applicants.
