The HR Dept shortlisted for top industry award

The HR Dept, now the UK’s leading outsourced human resources advisor, has been shortlisted for a top industry award. The business, which now has 57 offices around the UK and Ireland has been shortlisted in the category for Consultancy of the Year in the Personnel Today Awards 2014, organised by the UK’s leading free-access HR website.

The category recognises the achievements of HR consultants and consultancies who have demonstrated a positive and measurable impact on projects they have collaborated on with their clients.  Judging has been based on not only results but on testimonials from clients and evidence of how the consultancy excels.

Awards will be made at a prestigious presentation dinner taking place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on November 18.

The latest good news for The HR Dept, which provides employment advice and support to Small to Medium size Enterprises (SMEs) across the UK and Ireland, comes hot on the heels of its 2014 client satisfaction survey which saw it score 9.1 out of 10 for overall satisfaction among almost 700 clients and survey respondents. Likelihood among clients to recommend The HR Dept was 9.5 out of 10.

The company has also recently announced that it has launched 10 new UK offices in its present financial year.

Founder and Managing Director Sue Tumelty, who launched the business in 2003 to offer smaller employers the levels of HR expertise and support that large employers enjoy from their in-house HR team, says she is thrilled with the recognition that is coming the company’s way.

“Our award short-listing confirms that we have become an indispensible partner to thousands of small businesses around the country, which makes our hard-working team incredibly proud.” says Sue.

“We prize our relationships with our clients above all else, so being recognised for the way we work as a collaborative partner is fantastic news for us.”

“We are having an amazing year so far and, with businesses increasingly looking to work with HR partners that will take over their “people problems” leaving them free to grow their own businesses, we can only see this going from strength to strength.” Sue continues.

“I am incredibly proud of our team and the business that The HR Dept has become.”

Working with employers ranging from those taking on their first member of staff to those with several hundred employees, The HR Dept helps businesses stay legal and up-to-date with changes in HR and employment law as well as helping and advising on everything from sensitive employment issues to managing the challenges of growth, through pragmatic and affordable advice and support.

The HR Dept provides a local and personal service alongside an advice line to help deal with questions as they arise.  It is the only outsourced HR company to also provide Employment Tribunal insurance provided its advice is followed, thus giving clients complete peace of mind.  The HR Dept also offers a free review of contracts of employment and policy handbooks and a wide range of useful products to help with all HR matters including pensions, auto-enrolment and a “self service” personnel software system.
